Price Mason

Alex Mason, Tim Byrd, Brian Wilson, and Alex's kid brother Price Mason formed East Buddha in summer 2003. The experimental Indie rock quartet, who hails from Birmingham, initially began when the elder Mason worked with Tim at a local Birmingham music festival. From there, the two became inseparable, both professionally and personally. Gathering Price on electric guitars, Wilson on drums, East Buddha fleshed out an eclectic mix of alt-country, punk, psychedelia, and classically tinged songs. The "Bears" EP appeared in 2004. That same year, the band began playing its new flavor of independent music candy all over Birmingham and their new home base, Auburn University. During its recording, the band dealt with several hardships. Breakups, funerals, pending divorces, and a shoestring budgeted album threatened to maul the foursome like their beloved mascot, the Kodiak bear. Heartache turned into beauty, however, as the band was declared winner of the 2005 Auburn battle of the bands. They are now at work on their debut LP "Lynch Ye the Tom", as well as staying busy playing various venues.
